This is the first light of new-to-me RCOS 12.5 Carbon tube RC. I got this scope few months back. But my observatory construction did not complete until a month ago. After finally setting it up and working on collimation, I did not get a chance to test due to persistent clouds/rains . I finally got a semi-workable window last night (with high clouds etc.) but I was able to collect few hours of data . M13 was the target of choice to test collimation.
Luckily, the collimation is spot on (I followed RCOS collimation procedure during day time) . I also got the autofocus working with SGP. However last night, I chose not to do AF in other channels (RGB) and collected RGB with the same focus of L. R channel is slightly out of focus causing a bit of fringing in the final image.
The next few weeks show rain almost everyday, so even though I Would want to double/triple the data collection to throw away subs (Specifically reshoot R) I figured this good enough for a first light.
This is by far the toughest setup since I couldn't test anything locally and had to test it in the observatory (which is about 2 hours away). There are few more issues (The roof is very close to the scope when parked) etc. but it is slowly getting ready for automation.
The mount is overloaded with the scope. However it is able to handle when the conditions are ok (no wind, good seeing) .I still need to update the mount when I can find a good one
